When Recruiters Come To Business School

How rigorous can be the placement process? How can I impress the recruiter? How should I make it time-worthy? These are some of the questions that pop up when we think of attending an Interview. Well, here are some essential tips to face the big day with confidence.
Make Your Resume Stand Out: Your resume is the snapshot of your entire professional life. Make sure it is tailored to perfection. The information you put into it should be reviewed upon. Talk mainly about your accomplishments rather than your duties. Make sure there aren’t any awkward looking sections in your resume.
Do Your Research Thoroughly: Before going for an Interview, collect details about the organization. Do your bit of research works on the latest updates in your field. Learn about the company, what they do & most importantly WHAT PEOPLE IN YOUR INTENDED ROLE DO. The main focus of students should be on how to improve their prospects of winning over a recruiter.
Prepare Talking Points: Once the recruiter allows students to talk about themselves, he/she must already be rehearsed on what they plan to say. Help the recruiter understand how you might fit in, how you will align with the respective job role & how you can take the company in high standards if given the opportunity.
Recruiters Style: Recruiters have a habit of unnerving candidates but it’s nothing that a confident person cannot handle. They mainly rank academic performance as the first parameter as it is extremely important for the Interview.
Believing Yourself: For fresher’s, the negotiating power is limited and most companies pay the market salary. On the other hand, for experienced candidates, there is a better chance to negotiate and get what they want.
Apart from all this, believe in yourself and speak firmly. The company is as desperate to get you as you are to get a job!
The recruitment process is a good example of how things rarely end up the way we imagine!
